Study the Epistles daily with Pastor Rick

Did you know that there are 27 books in the new testament and 260 chapters total? The epistles or letters are Romans through Jude. The letters are to me the heart and soul of the new testament, tremendous spiritual growth can happen with the letters. There are 21 letters or books as we call them, they have a total of 121 chapters. So then if you read 1 chapter from the letters a day , you will read the letters ( Romans through Jude ) 3 times in one year!!  I am telling you this will bring spiritual growth to your life! So let's get started! We will start with Galatians chapter 1 and proceed. Each day I will have a  comment for each chapter. I encourage you to say a quick prayer first, and then ask God for wisdom and understanding, then be prepared to write in your Bible or mark in your electronics. Hey, you won't understand it all the first time and you might miss a day, just resume the next day , once we get back to Galatians it starts over again, just STAY at it !! If you have any questions please ! You can ask me at church, phone or email.

Listen! Once again! This will help you!-- guaranteed!!!

Verse 8 says “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.””

‭‭Now look at the Amplified Version: “Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others]."

Forgives and disregards! Wow!  That’s something we have to work at, but the Lord expects it!!   My mentor, Pastor Hilley, always said. “I choose to remember the good things and forget the bad.”

Proverbs 10:12 says “But love covers all sins.”  Walking in love requires us to cover (conceal or hide) our fellow Christians' sins and faults at times. I say "at times" because there will be times that we must confront. There is a balance to this, but let’s keep it in perspective., There will be plenty of irritations and mistakes made by people.  We must choose to overlook most of the stuff that comes our way.

Let’s pray today for more patience and understanding with our brothers and sisters in the Lord!

I really like the Message Bible for verse 9.  “No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing."

Folks, God has called us to be a “blessing!”  Wherever we go, home, work, school or church, we should look for ways to be a “ blessing “

Blessing can be big or small things.  The important thing is that your attitude is set to be one. Stop looking to receive and look to constantly give out!  Galatians 6:10 says, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”  ‭‭Let’s pray, and ask God for opportunities to be a blessing today!!

“as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,”

‭‭I Peter‬ ‭2:2‬

I work in a children’s hospital.  One time I saw this medical code to describe a baby - “FTT”.

It means failure to thrive! The baby in this case was malnourished, and its growth was stunted!

I think you get the point. God wants us to grow and thrive, but we have to feed ourselves the word of God.  It’s how we “grow thereby. “  Now listen up. If I told you that you could only eat physical food once per week on Sunday morning, you would not be happy. No, you want to eat every day. Folks, it’s no different spiritually.  We need to be fed the Word of God everyday!!  Stick with this plan, and let’s grow together!!
