About Us

At Eastgate Church everyone, and we mean everyone, from every walk of life is always welcome here. Eastgate is a multi-generational and multi-cultural church with people coming from all sorts of backgrounds that have one main ingredient in common, that we love Jesus. We strive to have a deeper relationship with Jesus and a better understanding of His word. There are several common threads that people use to describe Eastgate church. One is that people express that they feel loved and welcome here. Another is that we have incredible, in-depth teaching of the Word of God, that leads you to hunger for more. Still another, is that people feel the passion, presence, and power of the Holy Spirit here. We invite you to come worship with us and be our special guest! PLAN YOUR VISIT

The Foundation -

Pastors Gerald and Jeri Hilley

Pastors Gerald and Jeri Hilley were very close friends of Pastor John Osteen at Lakewood Church. In The 1970's, the Lord called them to pastor a small church starting in Dayton, Texas. The Lord has done many miraculous things in the near 40 years that they pastored. Pastor Gerald Hilley's focused teaching on love, faith, healing, grace and salvation are the foundational blocks of Eastgate Church. Pastor Gerald and Jeri Hilley recently retired in August of 2016. Eastgate Church was started in 1975 as a Bible believing church that reaches out to the lost world and helps other believers to grow in Jesus.

What we believe.

The Bible

At Eastgate Church we believe the entire Bible is inspired by God, without error and the authority on which we base our faith, conduct and doctrine.

The Trinity

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as Savior of the world.

Salvation

We believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We believe that salvation is found by placing our faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross. We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again.

Water Baptism

We believe water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of the blood of Christ and a testimony to our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Holy Spirit Baptism

We believe once you receive salvation you do not have to seek the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence because He lives and abides in you. However, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from salvation that every believer should seek and receive. Jesus makes it clear that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God to you.

Communion

We believe in the regular taking of Communion as an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross.

Growing Relationship

At our Churches in Coldspring, Huntsville, Willis and Dayton we believe every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying God's Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and by being conformed to the image of Christ.
