Study the Epistles daily with Pastor Rick

Did you know that there are 27 books in the new testament and 260 chapters total? The epistles or letters are Romans through Jude. The letters are to me the heart and soul of the new testament, tremendous spiritual growth can happen with the letters. There are 21 letters or books as we call them, they have a total of 121 chapters. So then if you read 1 chapter from the letters a day , you will read the letters ( Romans through Jude ) 3 times in one year!!  I am telling you this will bring spiritual growth to your life! So let's get started! We will start with Galatians chapter 1 and proceed. Each day I will have a  comment for each chapter. I encourage you to say a quick prayer first, and then ask God for wisdom and understanding, then be prepared to write in your Bible or mark in your electronics. Hey, you won't understand it all the first time and you might miss a day, just resume the next day , once we get back to Galatians it starts over again, just STAY at it !! If you have any questions please ! You can ask me at church, phone or email.

Listen! Once again! This will help you!-- guaranteed!!!

Wow!  This is just a whopper of a chapter!  So much good stuff here.

Verses 17-22 give you a description of Abraham’s faith in regard to the birth of his son “Issac”.  Abraham had great faith.  James 2:23 says, “And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”  And he was called the friend of God.  Folks, all that Abraham had, did and accomplished was because he simply believed God!  His faith moved God so much that He called him “the friend of God”.   I would highly recommend that you go back and study verses 17-22.  Let these verses of great faith be a example and guide for your faith!

Verses 20-26 are such powerful truths in regard to righteousness by faith. I would recommend that you go back and slowly read and study these verses.

It’s not works, folks, yet we can still slip into a works mentality. For years and years my peace and joy was slowed because in my mind I did not pray enough, or read enough, or witness enough, and still sinned here and there. I just felt like I was constantly letting the Lord down by my inabilities.  Yet think about it.  He saved us and loved us while we were yet sinners. That’s in Romans 5:8.  Ask your self a question. If He loved us before we were even saved, then how much more He must love us now that we call upon His name!!  We need to just rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ!

“Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, (not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?”) ‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭,  I love this verse.  Let’s look at the second part of it in the NLT version, it says “Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?”  Folks if I preach hell fire and brimstone, yes I might get some people saved, but to keep people serving God, it just can’t be a fear thing! God wants our hearts, he wants us first and foremost to know that he loves us and desires our love for him . A fear based relationship will not last  Thats why I preach the love of God so much . I know if a person embraces his love, they will grow in a loving healthy relationship with the Lord .
