💐 Mother’s Day Idea #1

Men’s Bake-Off for Moms

🎯 Overview

A fun and engaging Mother’s Day experience where men of the church bake desserts for the women, and the ladies vote for their favorite.

🧁 How It Works

  • Men sign up in advance to participate (2–3 weeks prior)

  • Each participant brings a homemade baked item

  • Desserts are set up outside as guests arrive

  • Attendees can sample treats before service

👉 Voting:

  • Women receive a small voting card/ticket

  • They vote for their favorite dessert

  • Only the ladies judge

🏗 Setup

  • One outdoor table under the drive-under

  • Pre-cut samples for quick tasting

  • Simple “Vote Here” basket or box

  • Clear sign: Men’s Bake-Off – Taste & Vote

🎤 In-Service Moment

  • Brief, fun recap after announcements

  • Build anticipation and engagement

  • Announce at the end of Service:

    • 🥇 1st Place Winner

    • 🥈 2nd Place

    • 🥉 3rd Place

🏆 Prizes

  • 1st Place:

    • Gift basket (to give to wife/mom/grandmother)

    • Fun/cheesy trophy

  • 2nd & 3rd Place:

    • Small recognition or prize

💛 Honor Moment (Key Piece)

At the end of service:

  • Invite participating men forward

  • Encourage them to bring their wife/mom if present??

  • Publicly honor:

    • Their effort

    • The women in their lives

    • The moms of the church

👉 This turns a fun idea into a meaningful moment.

🔥 Why It Works

  • Engages men in a unique way

  • Creates a fun, memorable experience

  • Honors moms both playfully and intentionally

  • Builds community before service even starts

💐 Mother’s Day Idea #2

Mom Panel: Stories of Faith & Motherhood

🎯 Overview

A meaningful and encouraging moment in service where a panel of moms from different life stages share real stories of motherhood, faith, and God’s faithfulness.

👩‍👩‍👧 Panel Makeup (3–4 Moms)

Create a multigenerational perspective:

  • Young mom (or foster/adoptive mom)

  • Mom with older kids/teens

  • Grandmother

👉 Goal: Represent different seasons so every woman feels seen.

🎤 Format

  • Moderated by Pastor + Lisa

  • Conversational and relaxed (not rigid or scripted)

  • Focus on authenticity over perfection

💬 Sample Questions

  • What has motherhood taught you about God?

  • Can you share a moment you felt like you were failing—and how God met you there?

  • What do you want your kids (or future generations) to know?

  • What is a tough season of motherhood you’ve walked through and overcome?

👉 Note:
It’s okay to not get through every question—leave room for the moment to be organic.

💛 Closing Moment

  • Lisa gives a short exhortation on motherhood

  • Encourages, affirms, and speaks life over the women in the room

🌿 Suggested Panel Direction

  • Highlight women who don’t usually get the spotlight

  • Give voice to stories the church may not have heard

Potential fits:

  • Cecilia (foster + older kids) / Andrea

  • Gina / (another mid-season mom)

  • Granny / Penny / Sherri

🔥 Why It Works

  • Deeply encouraging and relatable

  • Creates emotional connection across generations

  • Honors real-life motherhood—not just the highlight reel

  • Gives value and voice to women in your church

⚖️ Balance in the Service

  • Pairs perfectly with a lighter moment (like the Bake-Off)

  • Brings both joy + depth to the day
