1 Corinthians 8

Read 1 Corinthians chap 8

Let’s look at the second part of verse 1 and then verse 2: “Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. And if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.”

I teach a lot about knowing your bible, but there did come a time in my early Christian life that I started getting a little “puffed up.”

I had memorized a lot of verses, and that’s great except I got prideful. And God hates pride! So of course at some point I fell on my face— pride will do that.

1 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 2 says that if I understand all mysteries and all knowledge but have not love, I am nothing. I hope you all become bible scholars, but always let your pursuit of God’s love be your focus. Remember this: “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”
