Read 1 Thessalonians chapter 1

“and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.”  I Thessalonians 1:10

Before I was saved at 18 years old, I had very little knowledge of God; and, what little I had, God was mostly scary to me. I had heard of the great tribulation and hell and judgement. So, of course, I wanted to know more about it. Then I got even more scared as I read for myself.  I read Revelation right from the start and was clueless but frightened.

This is why we must read the entire bible, to get the full picture. So, look at the verse again: “Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come“. Jesus also said, in speaking about the last days,  “ ‘Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.’ “ Luke 21:28

Folks, yes, judgment is coming, but not to us if we are a saved child of God!  So don’t be frightened, but rejoice that your Savior is coming!
