Hebrews 2

“Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, (lest we drift away.”)

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2:1

This is a interesting verse.  It says “drift away”.  I have been a Christian for 38 years at the time of this writing. I love Jesus and reading the Bible, but it’s amazing to me how after all this time I can still find myself drifting away at times.

Now when something is drifting away, it is generally a slow action.  Nobody that loves the Lord just wakes up and decides to not love Him. It’s a slow process (a drift). It’s starts with an “I don’t feel like“ reading or praying today. Then another day goes by.  It has been a week or two since you spent time with the Lord before you know it,

Now listen to me carefully.  Any time you feel distant from the Lord, you had better take note and spend time in His presence!  Trust me!  You could drift to places you don’t want to be. Here is a encouraging verse from James 4:8, “Come close to God, and God will come close to you."  Remember he desires to be close to you!!
