James 5

2018 was a year of great awakenings for me!  Early in the year I joined a group of pastors and leaders for a weekly Bible study. In this group we were encouraged to open up about our lives, our faults, our secrets, and then pray for each other.

James 5:16 says “Confess your sins (or faults) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

I’ve learned a powerful truth from this group. “You are only as sick as your secrets.”  I know that our sins are forgiven by the blood of Jesus. You might say "that’s enough, Rick."  It is enough, but James 5:16 is still there and for our benefit.  Folks, there’s just something powerful about speaking or confessing our faults.  I encourage you to pray about somebody being in your life that you can trust to talk to and be “real".  Pray about it!  God will bring you someone!
