I really like my Old King James Version for verse 1: “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have (free course, )and be glorified.”

I like “free course“ or as other versions say, “run swiftly.” Think of it this way, don’t you like it when your driving on the highway and it’s wide open without traffic? No one in your way, just coasting along to your destination. I believe that’s what Paul had in mind when praying that the “word” or “gospel “ not be hindered but run swiftly. Let’s pray today that the “word” will run a free course in our lives and flow through us into this world!
