Romans 6

“Let not sin therefore rule as king in your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:12 Amp

Yesterday in Chapter 5, we discussed the word reign, and how that God wants us to rule and reign in life - especially over sin!.

Now look at the above verse. Notice how if sin is your ruler what it produces- cravings, lusts and evil passions.  I guarantee that you will have no peace if sin is your ruler.

Look at Galatians 6:8  “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”  So how do we stop letting sin dominate us?  We sow to the spirit!  How do you do that?  You are doing it right now . By reading the Bible and studying with this plan you are actively feeding your spirit, or as Romans 12:2 says “renewing your mind“.

The key is to consistently read your Bible daily and pray. Folks, I know by experience that if you stick with it that, little by little you will grow stronger and your ability to rule over and say no to sin will get easier!
