Study the Epistles daily with Pastor Rick

Did you know that there are 27 books in the new testament and 260 chapters total? The epistles or letters are Romans through Jude. The letters are to me the heart and soul of the new testament, tremendous spiritual growth can happen with the letters. There are 21 letters or books as we call them, they have a total of 121 chapters. So then if you read 1 chapter from the letters a day , you will read the letters ( Romans through Jude ) 3 times in one year!!  I am telling you this will bring spiritual growth to your life! So let's get started! We will start with Galatians chapter 1 and proceed. Each day I will have a  comment for each chapter. I encourage you to say a quick prayer first, and then ask God for wisdom and understanding, then be prepared to write in your Bible or mark in your electronics. Hey, you won't understand it all the first time and you might miss a day, just resume the next day , once we get back to Galatians it starts over again, just STAY at it !! If you have any questions please ! You can ask me at church, phone or email.

Listen! Once again! This will help you!-- guaranteed!!!

The book of Romans speaks a lot of righteousness, so as you read ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom on this foundational truth called righteousness!

Now this chapter also  deals with a hot button issue of our time, and please understand that I am not against people, and I don’t go out just looking for faults or sin . But at the end of the day, the Bible, the Word of God is my final answer on any Contraversal subject. So that being said verses 26-28 is my guide for this issue.

Now let’s look at verse 16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes”.  Paul was not ashamed, but did you know that Paul also prayed for boldness?  Look at Ephesians 6:19 when he requested prayer   “and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.“

‭‭Folks, let’s pray and ask for boldness, and then let’s declare that “we are not ashamed of the gospel!”

Verse 2 says “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

‭‭

Some teach that this verse is just a greeting and not to be taken as a promise of God. I respectfully disagree.  l believe this verse compliments John 10:10 when Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Our Father God wants us to have abundant life here on earth.  I am not saying that you are all going to be millionaires or not have tests and trials.   I am saying God wants us to have more than enough in this life.  So let’s pray and declare this today: Father I receive and declare health over my body and mind, and I thank you for prosperity in my life. I thank you that I have more than enough!

“If anyone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement. Anyone who encourages such people becomes a partner in their evil work.”

‭‭2 John‬ ‭1:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Let’s take a look at this. I can see where this can be interpreted wrong and damage done.  Most of us have encountered people of other religions whether at work or knocking on your door. Do we slam the door on them or wish them a horrible day? The verse could almost support that.

When it’s says, “don’t invite in your home“ it’s referring to allowing them to stay in your home as a home base for whatever their religion is. I won’t support that, but I have invited people in my presence and then discussed the gospel with them.  I am respectful and show courtesy, but I don’t support them with encouragement or prayers of success or money. I don’t want to be a part of anything that does not preach Jesus Christ and the cross, but we should not be rude or disrespectful.  Let 2 Timothy 24-25 be your guide: “A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.”
