Study the Epistles daily with Pastor Rick

Did you know that there are 27 books in the new testament and 260 chapters total? The epistles or letters are Romans through Jude. The letters are to me the heart and soul of the new testament, tremendous spiritual growth can happen with the letters. There are 21 letters or books as we call them, they have a total of 121 chapters. So then if you read 1 chapter from the letters a day , you will read the letters ( Romans through Jude ) 3 times in one year!!  I am telling you this will bring spiritual growth to your life! So let's get started! We will start with Galatians chapter 1 and proceed. Each day I will have a  comment for each chapter. I encourage you to say a quick prayer first, and then ask God for wisdom and understanding, then be prepared to write in your Bible or mark in your electronics. Hey, you won't understand it all the first time and you might miss a day, just resume the next day , once we get back to Galatians it starts over again, just STAY at it !! If you have any questions please ! You can ask me at church, phone or email.

Listen! Once again! This will help you!-- guaranteed!!!

We read yesterday that the heart of God is grieved for the lost, and that He uses us to reach them.  I believe that this chapter has some of the most important verses regarding salvation!   “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”Romans 10:9-10

Also look at verse 13, “For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”  ‭‭I believe that along with John3:16 are absolutely key verses that all Christians should commit to memory!!  With just these verses alone God can use you to win people for Jesus.

Folks, I challenge you to please know these verses. Then pray for opportunities to share Jesus and how he died on the cross for them, and that their sins can be forgiven if they just receive him. So folks when someone says “how do I get saved” you will know exactly what to say!!

The apostle Paul wrote Romans, but I believe he was inspired by God.  2 Timothy 3:16 says “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

‭‭

The words of Paul aren’t just the words of a man, but God!  So when Paul says in verses 2-3 of Romans Chapter 9, “My heart is filled with bitter sorrow and unending grief for my people, my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would be willing to be forever cursed — cut off from Christ — if that would save them.”  It’s not just Paul filled with grief , but God.

Think about what the Bible says:  “He left the 99 to find the 1”, “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son” ,"when the father saw the prodical son he ran and embraced him.”

Folks, when Paul wrote my heart is grieved, he was echoing God's heart.  Our Heavenly Father does not want anybody missing Heaven! How does God reach the lost?    US!  He needs us to share the Gospel and His great love. Let’s pray today that He will fill us with boldness and order our steps to those who need to receive Jesus!!

This is a tough chapter just to focus on one truth. Make sure you read this one slowly, and let the Holy Spirit teach you.

Let’s look at verses 5-6 “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. (6) For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

‭‭

Folks, it’s really no mystery as to why we sometimes find ourselves sad, depressed, angry, isolated, have feelings of worthlessness, etc.

Just do a little inventory. Ask yourself "have you been filling your mind with things of the spirit, or have you taken a vacation from the Bible and just been filling yourself with the flesh (or what this world says)".  I know we live here and must function here on earth, but we can make a decision that we will renew our minds with His Word!!  Have a daily plan to read God's Word.  This plan is a start, but remember this, “if you fail to plan, then you plan to fail!”  Think about it.

Hey, here is another awesome promise for reading the Word: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”   ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:3
